In his classic book, Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill advanced the idea that
how you think affects the results you produce. And that the people you surround
yourself with affect how you think! Hill’s concept of being part of a Master
Mind group, where like-minded individuals get together to share ideas,
encouragement and accountability is a powerful concept that has been used for
centuries from churches to businesses.
We created the Equity Happens Investor Mentoring Club in January of 2002 with
only 17 people meeting once a month in a small conference room. The meetings
were hosted by financial professionals and active real estate investors
operating under the motto Education for Effective Action™. In just a dozen
meetings the club had exploded to several hundred members and became the
research lab for many of the educational programs offered through the Equity
Happens Institute.
How does the Equity Happens Investor Mentoring Club work?
The club is based on a private membership and is not open to the general public.
Admission to the club requires completion of certain educational
pre-requisites,
the execution of a membership agreement, and payment of
membership dues.
Club meetings are held monthly and
are attended by members of the Equity Happens Advisor Alliance, financial
professionals who have been trained in Equity Happens financial strategies and
agree to adhere to EHAA’s code of conduct.
The three hour meetings feature a presentation on a timely topic related to real
estate investing, including financing, economics, property management, tax,
legal, estate planning, 1031 tax deferred exchanges, asset protection and much
more.
There is also a case study on a market place, an individual investor, or a
specific property. The purpose of the case study is educational, and in the case
of specific properties, nothing is for sale.
The third and final segment is a topical discussion centered on the presentation
or case study. In the case where you are attending a live meeting, the
discussion will be among your local members and hosting advisors. When you are
remote, you will have an opportunity to chat in a moderated on-line forum with
complete anonymity.
In addition to the educational benefits, the value of Mentoring Club membership
and attendance is the encouragement and ideas of the advisors and fellow
members, and the discipline of knowing that no matter how busy your life is, for
at least a few hours each month you will focus on your life as a real estate
investor. Fortunately, real estate investing can be relatively slow paced
compared to day-trading stocks or working a day job, but it can also get boring.
Many investors fail to optimize their investments because they lose focus.
Participation in the Mentoring Club will make sure that you are up to date on
what’s happening in the world of real estate investing and thinking about what’s
happening with your own portfolio.

“People should be in the Mentoring Club to be around people who are really doing
it, building wealth through equity, because you’ll see that ordinary people can
do this.”- Bob B.
“I was fairly well invested in real estate and wondering what to do at the next
level. I found that here in these groups.”- Anne W.
